A Slow, Intentional Close to January

Behind the Scenes at Social Coastal Hour

At Brandy Durst Creative, my work often lives behind the scenes — shaping experiences through thoughtful planning, visual storytelling, and intentional content that feels grounded rather than performative. Whether it’s event support, creative direction, or capturing moments as they naturally unfold, my goal is always the same: to help brands and communities tell their story in a way that feels honest and aligned.

That approach was especially present during a recent Social Coastal Hour, a community gathering created and hosted by my sister. I supported the event through planning, content creation, and day-of setup — quietly helping bring the vision to life while letting the experience speak for itself.

Wellness That Feels Real

This gathering featured Project E, whose red light masks became a subtle anchor for the day’s intention: wellness that supports the nervous system instead of demanding performance.

What stood out wasn’t just the offering, but the energy around it — people sitting longer, conversations unfolding slowly, care woven naturally into the experience. It was a reminder that wellness doesn’t need to be loud or extreme to be impactful. Sometimes, it’s simply about creating space.

Creative Support That Enhances the Experience

Supporting events like Social Coastal Hour allows me to bring my creative practice into physical spaces — considering flow, visuals, and storytelling in a way that feels cohesive but unobtrusive.

From prep and setup to capturing imagery throughout the day, my role is to support the overall experience: highlighting moments, documenting atmosphere, and ensuring the content reflects the intention behind the gathering.

This kind of work sits at the intersection of strategy and intuition — planning with care, then allowing the moment to unfold naturally.

A Visual Exhale

Photographing this event felt like a visual exhale. Soft coastal light, neutral textures, and unforced interactions came together effortlessly. These images aren’t about perfection — they’re about presence.

They reflect the kind of work I love most: intentional, human, and rooted in feeling.

Moving Forward Gently

As January comes to a close, this event felt like a quiet reminder that growth doesn’t need to be rushed. You’re not meant to be “on” all the time — and quiet beginnings are still meaningful beginnings.

Grateful to support thoughtful community spaces like Social Coastal Hour, and to collaborate with brands like Project E that prioritize care in such an intentional way.
