My NYC Internship Experience at Freschstyle

After graduating from college, I moved to New York City to pursue hands-on experience in the fashion and branding world. One of my most formative post-grad experiences was interning with Freschstyle, a bold and fashion-forward resale startup led by stylist and entrepreneur Jessie Freschl. I came across her internship posting on Fashionista.com and immediately knew I had to apply—but instead of just submitting a resume, I pitched Jessie a full creative direction for her social media and branding presence.

That approach paid off. After completing a short test project to showcase my vision and style, I was invited to join the team. The experience quickly turned into more than a typical internship—it became an immersive creative opportunity where I was entrusted with high-level responsibilities and real impact.

My work included:

  • Creating content for social media: Planning, styling, and photographing fresh inventory and NYC street-style-inspired looks

  • Influencer marketing: Researching and reaching out to aligned creators to build authentic partnerships

  • Graphic design: Designing social graphics, Instagram story templates, and promotional materials

  • Email marketing: Writing and designing email blasts to announce sales, events, and new drops

  • Website contributions: Supporting layout ideas and content suggestions to enhance user flow and brand consistency

Working with Jessie was a dream. She welcomed bold ideas and empowered me to lead creative direction for campaigns while offering mentorship and support every step of the way. This experience helped me solidify my skills in visual storytelling, brand alignment, and confident content creation.

It also opened the door to the next chapter—one rooted in mission-driven design.
