Boulangerie Berlin
Maya, the founder of Boulangerie Berlin, reached out with a clear and thoughtful vision: to create a gluten-free bakery that didn’t feel clinical, restrictive, or “othered” — but instead warm, elevated, and deeply rooted in European charm.
Located inside The Inn Berlin in Berlin, Maryland, Boulangerie Berlin needed a brand identity that honored the craftsmanship of traditional bakeries while clearly communicating trust, care, and quality for the gluten-free community. This wasn’t about leaning into limitations — it was about leading with feeling, familiarity, and warmth.
From the beginning, the goal was to build a brand that felt inviting first, and informative second.
We focused on restraint, warmth, and story. Every decision was intentional — from typography and color to imagery and layout — all chosen to evoke the feeling of a neighborhood bakery you instinctively trust. One that feels familiar, cared for, and worth returning to.
The resulting identity is calm and approachable, never loud. It carries a subtle sense of nostalgia with European influence, while remaining trust-forward for customers navigating dietary needs. Visually, the brand was designed to stay cohesive across every touchpoint — packaging, menus, social media, and even the bakery truck — so the experience feels seamless wherever you encounter it.
The final brand strikes a careful balance: artisanal without being precious, elevated without feeling exclusive, and above all, safe, warm, and deeply human.
From menus and social content to photography and the bakery truck itself, Boulangerie Berlin’s branding now reflects the heart of the business — thoughtful, community-driven, and rooted in craftsmanship.
